A patient calls in asking if we have availability in our schedule to come in right away for an “Emergency Exam”. They are experiencing pain, and now dental treatment is extremely important. The diagnosis is often the same, substantial decay has compromised tooth structure, it often requires a root canal and crown, or an extraction followed by a bridge or implant.
Can it be avoided? Yes, absolutely. Timing and consistency are critical; we can prevent problems, and catch them early for an easy fix. If only there were some kind of motivation that was as powerful as pain.
